Eu achei que tinha um plano sólido.

I thought I had a solid plan.

O plano durou cerca de cinco minutos.

The plan lasted about five minutes.

Depois disso, tudo deu errado.

After that, everything went wrong.

Ninguém ficou surpreso, exceto eu.

Nobody was surprised except me.

Eu deveria ter esperado.

I should have expected it.

Algumas lições são difíceis de aprender.

Some lessons are hard to learn.

Aparentemente, eu precisava de outro lembrete.

Apparently I needed another reminder.

Isso não era como eu imaginava as coisas.

This was not how I imagined things.

People misunderstood my intentions.

I couldn't explain myself properly.

Every explanation sounded worse.

The more I talked, the deeper I got.

Às vezes, o silêncio é a melhor opção.

Sometimes silence is the better option.

I learned that the hard way.

Nem todos querem uma explicação.

Not everyone wants an explanation.

Eu não queria decepcionar ninguém.

I didn't want to disappoint anyone.

As expectativas eram bem altas.

The expectations were pretty high.

Todo mundo parecia confiante em mim.

Everyone seemed confident in me.

Eu nem de longe era tão confiante.

I wasn't nearly as confident.

Eu me preocupava em decepcionar as pessoas.

I worried about letting people down.

Essa pressão permaneceu comigo.

That pressure stayed with me.

Ele me seguiu por todo lugar.

It followed me everywhere.

Eu não conseguia parar de pensar nisso.

I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Até tarefas simples sentiam-se difíceis.

Even simple tasks felt difficult.

O estresse pode fazer isso com você.

Stress can do that to you.

Eu achei que sabia o que estava acontecendo.

I thought I knew what was happening.

Então percebi que estava completamente errado.

Then I realized I was completely wrong.

Os fatos contaram uma história diferente.

The facts told a different story.

Eu tinha perdido algo importante.

I had missed something important.

Um detalhe mudou tudo.

One detail changed everything.

De repente a situação fez sentido.

Suddenly the situation made sense.

Senti-me tolo por não ter percebido.

I felt foolish for missing it.

A resposta tinha sido óbvia.

The answer had been obvious.

Às vezes, você está perto demais para ver.

Sometimes you're too close to see it.

Perspective makes a difference.

Meus amigos tinham opiniões fortes.

My friends had strong opinions.

Infelizmente, eles eram todos diferentes.

Unfortunately they were all different.

Todos achavam que tinham razão.

Everyone thought they were right.

Ninguém queria fazer concessões.

Nobody wanted to compromise.

A discussão não levou a lugar nenhum.

The discussion went nowhere.

Passamos horas discutindo.

We spent hours arguing.

No final, não resolvemos nada.

In the end we solved nothing.

Pelo menos todos se expressaram.

At least everyone expressed themselves.

Bom, eu acho que isso é alguma coisa.

That's something, I guess.

Algo não muito útil, no entanto.

Not a very useful something though.

Eu tentei não arrumar problemas.

I tried to stay out of trouble.

Os problemas sempre me encontravam mesmo assim.

Trouble kept finding me anyway.

Talvez eu só tenha má sorte.

Maybe I just have bad luck.

Ou talvez eu tome más decisões.

Or maybe I make bad decisions.

A resposta é provavelmente ambos.

The answer is probably both.

De qualquer forma, o resultado foi o mesmo.

Either way, the result was the same.

Eu estava lidando com as consequências.

I was stuck dealing with the consequences.

Não havia saída fácil.

There was no easy way out.

Eu tive que enfrentar o problema.

I had to face the problem.

Evitar isso já não era uma opção.

Avoiding it wasn't an option anymore.

Não conseguia parar de me comparar aos outros.

I couldn't stop comparing myself to others.

Pareciam ser melhores em alguma coisa.

Everyone seemed better at something.

Algumas pessoas faziam tudo parecer fácil.

Some people made everything look easy.

Eu sabia que isso não podia ser verdade.

I knew that couldn't be true.

Ninguém tem tudo resolvido.

Nobody has it all figured out.

As pessoas mostram apenas parte da história.

People only show part of the story.

Eu não parava de me lembrar disso.

I kept reminding myself of that.

Isso ajudou um pouco.

It helped a little.

Não tanto quanto eu esperava.

Not as much as I hoped.

Mas foi um começo.

But it was a start.

A situação toda soou ridícula.

The whole situation felt ridiculous.

Se alguém tivesse me contado mais cedo, eu não teria acreditado.

If someone had told me earlier, I wouldn't have believed it.

E lá estava eu.

Yet there I was.

Vivendo cada segundo disso.

Living through every second of it.

A realidade pode ser mais estranha do que a ficção.

Reality can be stranger than fiction.

Isso era prova disso.

This was proof of that.

Continuei esperando por uma explicação razoável.

I kept waiting for a reasonable explanation.

Jamais veio.

None ever came.

Algumas coisas simplesmente não fazem sentido.

Some things just don't make sense.

You have to accept that.

Eu fiz uma promessa.

I made a promise.

Mantê-lo acabou sendo difícil.

Keeping it turned out to be difficult.

Quanto mais tempo passava, mais difícil se tornava.

Eu não tinha mais certeza.

I wasn't sure anymore.

Às vezes, o compromisso importa.

Sometimes commitment matters.

Mesmo quando não é conveniente.

Even when it's inconvenient.

O problema acabou por resolver-se.

Eventually the problem solved itself.

Acontece mais vezes do que se pensa.

That happens more often than you'd think.

Toda minha preocupação não mudou nada.

All my worrying changed nothing.

O resultado estava fora do meu controle.

The outcome was out of my hands.

Eu poderia ter me poupado de muito estresse.

I could have saved myself a lot of stress.

Talvez essa seja outra lição.

Maybe that's another lesson.

Nem todo problema exige ação imediata.

Not every problem needs immediate action.

Às vezes a paciência é suficiente.

Sometimes patience is enough.

Ainda estou aprendendo isso.

I'm still learning that.

Eu sempre serei.
